So I'm going to use this 2 line rhyme you see

I'm used to writing less playful prose
So you'd better buckle up and we'll see where this goes

I thought I'd write some poetry this sunny good day
As I'm bored of writing stories in their boring bland way

And in them it's harder for ideas to express
And so often or not I get in a right old mess

I apologize now for the inevitable grammatical mistakes
I often think myself dyslexic because of the errors I makes

I know no poems by rote and are Haikus four, six, four
But poetry should be about creativity and not linguistical law

Now what ideas in my future poetry should I embrace
Freedom and love, maybe not just in case

For I feel a pauper when discussing those matters
And so my happiness is reduced to such tatters

But I'm fine, I'm cool, I'm still here without a care
Because this poetry thing gives all such a whimsical air

Although I just gave you a glimmer of my demons beneath
You should be scared because they have such sharp yellow teeth

But now to conclude
As I don't want to sully the mood

I'll go off and discover something less primitive than 2 line rhyme
Because resorting to it, I feel like a fool at this time

There must be more complex literary devices
To which all intellectuals so seductively entices

As anybody can say bat after hat and bug after rug
But I don't want to be such a poetic mug

I want many a simile and a metaphor
And everything else seemingly great galore

I want everything I ever write
to be explosive dynamite

But o look what a delusional dreamer I am
Everything I write's going to be equated to spam

I right now may as well probably put down my wretched pen
And go and lose myself in the modern version of an opium den

But that would solve nothing
A psychoactive chemical fling

I'm sorry, look at me dragging this down
So I will leave you now with a brow contorting frown

And wish you happiness and a good life
Without any ailments and without any strife [comments] => 1 [counter] => 206 [topic] => 61 [informant] => tobs [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )
