and this is what I see.
I see a scared little girl.
She's staring back at me.

Her teal eyes glitter,
with tears ready to fall.
One escapes her lid,
and down her cheek it crawls.

Her cheeks are that of red,
burning with heated pain.
Her soul is full of suffering,
and cannot be made to tame.

She scratches at her face,
at the blemishes that only she finds.
Paranoia eats away at her,
puts her in a trepid state of mind.

She runs her fingers through her hair,
then starts to roughly pull.
She screams obscenities at herself,
about how she is ugly and pitiful.

I can only shout with her,
my own pain never ceasing.
I scratch my face, pull my hair,
my anger ever increasing.

Then I look in the mirror,
and this is what I see.
I see a scared little girl,
and realize it's me.

i love this poem... i often "see" this too, but we do not have to... try looking at yourself through different eyes, and you may be surprised the beautiful person you see... anyone who write prose such as this, is beautiful to me... keep writing it out... blessings...

To put it simply this poem is beautiful, yet so sad. There is so much more to this poem though. I love the pain and heartache you put into this poem. Keep on writing...

you have written so beautifully the things that alot of people go through and would have loved to expressed themselves in the way that you have. the pain an emotion seeped through the lines truly wonderful.
