I want the world to stop today.
I close my eyes and pray--
(that the pain all goes away,)

and that these feelings will not fill my bones,
and make me feel so all alone and helpless down inside myself...

For I can't take this anymore,
this feeling that I've fought before...

...It's killing me...

And now, a voice is crying out,
to someone that I used to be,
to find that speck of strength I had,
that long ago, empowered me,
and learn to tame its hearty flare,
lest I cause harm in my haste
and find the calm to make a choice,
between the hearts' embrace

Oh my Phil....Such a good write. So good. Deeply emotive. I simply was captured by that ending stanza. Knowing you, it hurts me so that you feel this way, but I am glad you can release it with your words. Love ya hun.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

Great write! Felt like i was eavesdropping on someone's private thoughts, you've expressed the emotion so real it took away my breath. Thanks for daring to share.

I agree we are privy here to the dialogue and workings between heart and mind... Bravo.

Here's to the courage of your pen!

May the Calm, Attend and Embrace you Fully...

Sweetie, this is incredibly moving, in a very sad way. What an unimaginable
and altogether beautiful title. The last line speaks so softly and yet with a
conviction of thought that is amazingly powerful. I actually find strength
in this piece that floats just within reach. And oh! how I relate to it.

Perfectly worded and expressed hun. Inner struggle can be and is
devastating at times. But with friends to lean on, there is much
to relish in the discovery of strength!

Wonderful post, my dear poet and friend.

(thanks for the chat this morning-- and for the

You have an astoundingly good choice of words. I loved the line -that these feeling will not fill my bones- That's how deep you're opening yourself up in writing this, to the bone. It's very rare that we get words like empowered, and not have them bog down the reading of the poem. Very good.
Take care,
David
