Hear the wind upon you shutters,
'Tis my love longing to be with you,
Hear the rain as it patters,
'Tis my love, pouring down,
Smell the morn as the day wakes,
'Tis my love, reminding you,
Smell the salt as the waves break,
'Tis my love, strong for you,
Taste the bitterness of the human race,
'Tis my love that will stand up for you,
