Also an engagement ring and wedding band
To take to his love so sweet and true
Ready to ask her to say I do

Through the dark streets he did stride
Not soon enough to ask her to be his bride
An ominous silence was in the air
Scared but go on he must dare

Out of the shadows a figure in black
He was not ready for this kind of attack
A woman beautiful beyond compare
With lovely blue eyes and long blonde hair

Skin of the palest of hues
Almost translucent sort of blue
She smiled and his heart had a pang
For her teeth seemed to be fangs

Mesmerized by this unusual sight
Could not move he was frozen with fright
Then savagely at his throat she tore
Till she had her fill his life was no more

Off she went to her favorite haunt
Knowing she would not be caught
Now this sorrow on his love imposes
For all she has left is his blood on the roses [comments] => 11 [counter] => 254 [topic] => 13 [informant] => NoSaint [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 22 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Enjoyable. Good rhyme. I enjoy vampire movies. Mystical poems about vampires is a good twist. You could also relate lifes twist and turns that change our path as being a force that can bleed us dry.Like that beautiful vampire.

All too often writers romanticize the demoness with fangs...Here clearly is the other side, an often neglected point of view, delivered in quatrains most effectively.

Bravo

Peace

A very tragic poem, well posed. I can tell you choose your words very carefully. Excellent write!
