Array ( [sid] => 13067 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => for Amanda [time] => 2003-02-21 00:40:00 [hometext] => i wrote this for my sister, who turned 18 on the 17th of February... she deals with chronic depression and has lived with me since my mother left a year and a half ago... i wrote this to tell her how much she is loved and how proud i am of her and the progress she has made... [bodytext] => Under the pale moonlight
A visage of porcelain peeks out
Bearing Ocean filled eyes of turquoise
And lines of pain

Red cherries of life encircle the top
Whilst a tornado rages deep within
This little angel cries in her sleep
For those who are lost and not to be found

Painting by day
Gazing by night
The angel stares into an abyss
Too great to conquer within her own mind

Along came a spider
It sat down beside her
And told her a story
Of a life attainable if only she would perchance to dream

Of smiles instead of frowns
Of laughter instead of tears
Of comfort instead of pain
Of fulfillment instead of disappointment

'Tis not this angel’s fault
The world seems to have forgotten this diamond in the rough
As it passes slowly by
This wondrous artist sees her venue to thrive

A chance bestowed
A gift given
To leave her past to the hyenas
And dream of a future of music and wishes

Look at this angel through my spidery eyes
Her strength and loyalty
To that which she makes important
See her beautiful nature
As she was meant to be seen
The twinkle in her eye when a child says, “I love you”
The spark in her heart when the music plays
When the family calls
When those who have forgotten remember where she is
And how she got here…

On her own

Every new day a new way beckons
Every new night the stars
Smile upon this angel of love
Every moment is special
We know this
As she will too…

And the pale moonlight will continue to shine
As the beauty and love
Within this angel will continue to grow
Everyday the lines of pain are diminishing
Allowing her to see herself for the precious angel that she is…

I love you, my Sister
