Array ( [sid] => 130770 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Tango [time] => 2007-01-20 14:17:23 [hometext] => Its about both love and dancing, two things which I think can be intertwined, as in this poem. [bodytext] => A darkened street in Venice
The lamplight on you face
My gloved hand in your left hand
Feel your skin through my black lace.
My satin dress swings round
Its midnight spills onto the ground,
As you lead me in your tango
You are held within my grace.
We dance within our spotlight
Two flames sprung from in its heart,
A volatile creation,
When we touch we spark.
The orchestra fills the darkness
Hear ghosted notes on violin,
That with soft percussion play
A fragile, dark refrain.
We turn our heads like eagles,
Then twist ourselves to match,
My feet weave fancy patterns
While you stop,
Your breath to catch.
My heart beating so fast now
As we kick, we spin, we stamp.
The music heightens,
The streetlamp brightens,
Your hands pinned to me,
Throw me, catch me,
Fall.
The tango has consumed us all.

Oh Dom .. what PASSION!!!! I'm sorry I missed this one,
but so glad that I decided to click on it today. (The Tango is
one of my most favoured dances). You are so right about
dancing and love, and you captured the brilliance of that
essence in your words. When the music starts .... what
else can we do but dance ?? :)

beautiful ~

Passion plus...I'm breathless with the dance, I can hear the music and my heart is thumping to the music...How utterly alive and full of romance are these words. The last of the romantics now stands before us.Standing ovation!
