Too Much to Drink

Lets go down the pub tonite he said, .....I've worked hard all week am feeling half dead
A pint or two that will chill me out.... and a takeaway for home s' what its all about
Chilling after a week of work toiled, we all are allowed.... the weekend to be spoiled
This was before he sipped his first pint of beer, and greeted our friends who called "over here"
The first pint it went down his gullet quite well,,,, the 2nd and 3rd He could hardly tell
By the time he reached the 5th, he was rather unsteady, and t'wasnt long 'fore he was feeling heady

Thats ok he said, when offered another pint, I know your meaning very well and being very kind
But a tonic that will do me with lots and lots of ice .... Thank you mate and cheers to you for being oh so nice
The tonic went down quickly and soon his stomache called... we headed to the local indian as our dinner had been stalled
Ordered up a meal for two, to scoff when we reached home, its always nice to eat it there all private and alone

I dished up the food to him and offered him a drink, No thats ok he said to me Im fine without I think...
The dinner took no time atall to eat and then digest, We ate the food upon our plates, the dog he got the rest
I walked back into the sitting room and snuggled up real close, when suddenly..... I turned and saw things coming from his nose
No silly nothing gruesome just some Zzzzz's that is all, How did I know if I left one second asleep that he would fall

Eventually to our beds we made our merry way, He staggered and he tripped a bit but up the stairs did sway
A quick wash and then jumped into bed how wonderful that feels, I hear him guzzle-ing the water as some quick mouthfuls he steals
Not long before the Zzz's again are buzzing loud and clear, as he snuggles up behind me and says good night my loving dear
tick tock tick tock the minutes pass and then not long the hours, The rain hitting windows hard and fast, as outside rain it showers

Soon morning comes and he awakes a smile upon his face, A sweet loving kiss a quick caress the drink there is no trace
Except he knows inside his head is a hammer being hammered, We term this pain as a hangover, Asprin please? he stammered
suddenly his smile has gone, his eyes look sleepy too, I tell you of his story so it DONT happen to you!
A drink or two is very nice but any more you see,,, will give you pain and you'll feel sick an it'll make u wanna wee!

I really like it!
This would propably have way more comments if people weren't so lazy to read a poem that size^^
But I don't quite get how this poem is meant though, in a serious way or in a more humorus way
Being able to relate, I actually found it quite amusing
If it wasn't meant that way, I'm sorry
But anyways, superb read!!
Great flow!
Keep it up
