Just to turn right back around?
Did your daddy chase you?
Did your mom just turn away?

Don't be too skinny, girl.
Famished doesn't look good on you.
Don't listen to your mama, girl.
She spent her days in the bathroom, too.

Dream that dream, girl.
The world is ripping at the seams, girl
But hold on to your morals
And be the one to stop those screams, girl

Are you hiding behind your book?
Are you scared to face the world?
Are you blind behind your glasses?
Did they tear them off your face?

You don't need to hide your face, boy
You're the picture of perfect grace, boy
Use that pen and paper
And don't let them chase you away, boy

Are you crying because you're hungry?
Can you not get it yourself?
Did your mama leave you alone here?
Are you crying because you fell?

I hope she doesn't starve you, babe
You still got growing to do.
I hope she holds you soon, babe
I hate what you're going through

I'll be dreaming that dream, babe.
The world's ripping at the seams, babe.
I wish that I could save you
And a million others like you screamin', babe.

Are you still running?
Are your fears chasing you down?
Did you hide behind your faith?
Instead of standing your ground?

You gotta dream that dream, girl
The world's still ripping at the seams, girl.
You don't need to be afraid
'Cause you can stop those screams, girl. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 269 [topic] => 34 [informant] => unfallentears [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SongLyrics )

This is a soulful rock ballad aka Hoobastank, Lenny Kravitz or Counting Crows in my opinion. This is a meaningful jam. The Girls fortunate to have your artistic encouragement.

Well Done
