Knights are a dying breed, and I want to thank those who are left for being who they are. [bodytext] => A knight is sworn to valor
His honor is his life
And he will stand a valiant soldier
Through toil, fear, and strife

His heart knows only virtue
No evil is within
And he will live his life
Righting wrongs and battling sin

His blade defends the helpless
From the powerful, the strong
And protects them from all
Who would do them wrong

His might upholds the weak
When all others strength doth fail
He will lift them up
That good should still prevail

His word speaks only truth
Though lies aren’t sticks and stones
They can still cause pain
Shattering trust if not shattering bones

His wrath undoes the wicked
Weaving webs of their own creation
Catching spiders in their traps
To the flies jubilation

The last chivalrous knights
Following the last chivalrous codes
A blessing to mankind
Righting wrongs and easing loads

I built this poem around Bowen’s old code from the movie Dragonheart.

Mmmm... I liked this poem ..... I have met many Knights .... some may have fallen enroute ... but today I have found my Knight in shining armour .....

Here's to the Knights out there, where would we be without them...

Beautifully written

I think this is excellent. I wonder what
our country would be like today if their
were more people like this. What a cool idea it would be if someone were to start some
kind of charity organization whose members
were sworn to live by such a code. Think how
much good they could do. Love this poem.
Truly , Dusty

I found your write a most interesting one. I remember helping my nephew with his assignment about Knights last year. I found out some fascinating facts.
You have penned this well. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for posting it~

I really enjoyed reading your poem - it reminded me of the mythical Athurian tales that I loved as a child.
