Things won't always be this way
Sometimes the world spins upside down
And the moon doesn't want to shine
They say that people speak the loudest words
And now he knows thats true
The loudest words are the ones they say
When they don't feel that way about you

Sunshine spent all of yesterday
Imagining the world as grass
Grassy fields for playin guitar and lounging around
But Sunshine never got to play
Because Sunshine didn't shine yesterday

Sometimes he hears someone say it
And then its never really true
Who decides whats right and wrong
Who decides about you

Sunshine woke up this morning
And his head weighed a ton
Not too sure what he might have seen
Definately not sure about what he'd done
But it didn't matter to Sunshine
Because Sunshine shone today

Sunshine plays his guitar
Plays a light and simple tune
About this boy who wanted to live
But never got out of the womb
And he sang about all this boys friends
Who he never got to meet
And then he looked over his shoulder
Saw the boy walkin down the street

Sunshine said "Hey brother,
Wanna sit with me for awhile?"
The boy said "Sorry kid,
Guitar is goin out of style"
"Why do you have to say something like that"
Sunshine replied with tears
The boy shouted "Because if you never learn
Whats right and wrong
You can never give up your fears"

Sunshine looked down at himself
Playing guitar in the grass
He didn't mind what the boy just said
He only kept playin that tune
But he couldn't help but wonder
Was someone playing a game?
Pulling strings and building walls
To keep Sunshine from bein sane

But sometimes he hears someone
In the back of his mind
Sunshine, get up this morning
Who knows what you may find

So Sunshine smiles and returns to his bed
Knowing that he's better off instead
Because one night your playin guitar in the grass
And the next your playin in your head [comments] => 1 [counter] => 233 [topic] => 73 [informant] => Ari [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )
