that bears down mercilessly and unending
careless words blatantly uttered
without regard to pain and upset

honesty forgotten from the start
lies easily spoken to deceive
a mask of love put into place
promises broken and forgotten

a treacherous heart made of stone
surrounded by impenetrable walls of steel
a smiling face of deception so vast
a secret room of pleasure to keep

eyes that see the desire of the heart
twisted fantasy to quench the flame
unbridled passion with no boundaries
unaware of the damage inflicted within

though true love seeks to repair
while waiting patiently for its turn
only to be trampled upon
as pearls cast before swine

A well penned piece of how much risk we take when we allow another into our heart space.
Always a risky business and one we all what to invest in just the same.Well done
