And your life fits like an old, worn-out suitcase
The dour exclaim of everything always being this way
Is because you can't think of anything else to say

Just getting to the next moment is such a fight
And no amount of soul-searching will make it right
The only good about your life is that you didn't fall
Since you've never been up, as far as you recall

Truth, by its very nature, is a demanding precept
Being universal is a strange yet false concept
Your version won't match the spews from anothers face
Even when both occupied the same time and space

It's really your own sad truth, you sit and think
As the tiny straw vivifies the fluid in your drink
Wondering how often you have to fail at being yourself
Before you're finally allowed to become somebody else

LOVED these lines;
"The only good about your life is that you didn't fall
Since you've never been up, as far as you recall"

and i liked the last two lines, but it threw me off - they didn't rhyme as closely as all the others did.

beautiful write, though.

Wow, this was painful and powerful to read. Many, many moons ago had me a little trouble with some vile liquids...that was so long ago. Your write reminded me of those days and I am glad I am well past that now.
Much peace,
Laura
