A sea of sorts resides within,
where waters ebb and flow by rote
while currents spark as well as stream,
and waves break on endless hope.

The deeper sea that sailors’ dream,
where pearls of wisdom, cast aside
are tossed and turned to polished awe,
and offered on the morning tide.

The strongest maelstroms of the mind,
eased within its cooling veins
are taken down where memories sleep,
and sirens pluck alluring strains.

A sea of sorts lies deep inside,
with pools of heaven, still and clear
where lovers drown in which to hide,
and treasure moments dear. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 280 [topic] => 49 [informant] => spike [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 25 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => mystical )

Oh, I have to read the poem that inspired this, for to have sparked a poem that is masterful in its own right, it must be quite a piece indeed!
I love the analogy, in my mind it is one of the most apt comparisons to make (but then I'm probably a bit biased, I love the sea!) and you have crafted it skilfully.
I cannot express just how much I enjoyed reading this, nor can my words do justice to yours. Only know that I am more in awe and appreciation of your work than ever!

Take care,
Dom

A very enjoyable read and I loved the heart drawn in the sand....so lovely and romantically sweet. The last stanza was simply dreamy. Thanks for sharing.
Peace and hugs,
Laura
