Array ( [sid] => 136188 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Holly Copper [time] => 2007-07-24 08:24:46 [hometext] => If I knew it, I would do it, if I did it, it'd be done [bodytext] => If I were to be told, it all comes back to you
I'd be hoping that were honest, I'd be praying it were true
Like David and Goliath, like rocks into the eyes
I'd hang you by your conscience, I'd unwrap your alibis
But this was just a chance, a meeting went and passed
Now I'm on a plane and the pain has come at last
If you think that I didn't pick up on it, you're wrong
The moon is just a face, but what's the face to the sun?
Cause If I knew it,
I'd do it, if I did it, it'd be done

So distance seems a virtue when you worry about yourself
what others think of what they see, when there's really nothing else
I heard of you in dreams one night, your pocket watch, your second sight
I'd defy to lie, a cross I bare, to who it's from, I just don't care
Cause now that's it being carried I'm just looking at the dirt
I'm glad that it's finally coming, all these missed chances finally hurt
And I wished to write you a beautiful song
but I'd rather not make waste to a vision on the run
Cause if I knew it,
I'd do it, if I did it, it'd be done

Where's Holly Copper? Someone stop her
Someone proper,
give her all the things my eyes could not

Where's Holly Copper? I'm lost without her
what comes after?
I keep bleeding from these eyes Holly Copper couldn't want

Was it wrong to hold back on what I felt for the sake of time?
Like it were a promised coming attraction, age to a fining wine?
I don't feel what is real, I'm too lost in what I've known
The soul has been pressed and twisted, it's just the body grown
Maybe some day we will play slots in Vegas, and we will write a book
Give up all the tiles, pronounce the claims as they were took
Shake a friend from a tree, and a lover far from me
What are bandages in the water, and a tale told too long?
Who wrote the rules of love, where's this figure out to shun?
Cause if I knew it,
I'd do it, if I did it, it'd be done

Where's Holly Copper? Someone stop her
Someone proper,
give her all the things my eyes could not

Where's Holly Copper? I'm lost without her
what comes after?
I keep bleeding from these eyes Holly Copper couldn't want
