As thoughts of you consume my soul and all I am is bared,
Each day and night a mystery, life’s course a winding road,
While the darkest corners of my heart hold secrets yet untold.

Like reflections in a mirror, I dream of you each night,
Reflections that are shattered when you come into my sight.
For manifest, I’m powerless, in you my dreams come true,
And I beg for mercy at your feet, there’s nothing I can do.

Your image in my heart has been captured for all time,
Though it's me who has been captured, your beauty so sublime.
Blindfolded by the shadows, our love that cannot be,
My longing through a whisper is all you'll ever see.

Doug .. I've read both poems many times over ... and both are equally as powerful ... although this one you obviously feel says what you want to say in a better way ... and I also feel it expresses your feelings just a little better .. particularly I like the last two lines ... Jan

Ok Doug...I had to copy and paste them both into a notebook so I could look at both of them side by side to compare the two. Once again you have managed to capture my attention. Both are similar in content and meaning, but if you look into them close enough, you see they are both very different. In any measure you have got both my heart and my mind moving with them. I enjoy reading your work. Sometimes it feels as though they were written just for me and I wonder how you are able to step into me like that. Then I realize that hey, maybe I am not the only person in this world that feels this way sometimes. And that, is good writing :) Keep em comin Doug!!

I really liked your poem - i can really relate to it and i think a lot of people also can to - nothing i could really say would do any justice because its been said so many times but still...i thought your poem was lovely.
