[bodytext] => At Jericho blind Bartimaeus sat In his donated threadbare tunic clad, Begged patiently for alms from passers-by And mixed his prayers with so many a sigh. But now he listened up,- had to surmise The flurry round him seemed to advertise The nearing of the Master passing through, He asked those near to him if this was true.. “Move Bartimaeus, -Reb Timaeus’ son- Keep to the side so that the Master can Find enough space to teach and move around”. But Bartimaeus - stubborn- kept his ground. The crowd urged him shut up and step aside, The more they pushed, the more the blind man cried And fumbled forward in his blindness‘ night Lord!-Son of David hear!, please give me sight! To see, - what unimaginable bliss!- The people, flowers, houses, hills and trees. And ever louder Bartimaeus cried” “Be merciful oh Lord, -please give me sight!.” A gentle hand now touched the sightless eyes, The hand that animates and vivifies, And Bartimaeus saw - in rapt delight! Saw and beheld and felt - Love at first Sight!.. .
