Life is troubled,
Life is dead.
There is no reason
To go on.
My child is grown
And I am done.
I have tried so hard
To be the lover.
I gave so much
And received so little.
My life was over
From the beginning.
The love I sought,
Was taken away.
She loved me dearly
Till the ex stood in the way.
She says it’s not her fault
For he ***** her dearly.
Why did it happen to me?
I played no part
In her past.
Why can’t she see?
I’m not like him.
I gave so much
To free her soul
Yet she’s right back to him.
She say’s she love’s me
But I have my doubts.
If she could only
Let go from his pain,
And love me true
As she claims.
My life is over
For I can do this
Not again.
Good-bye world
This is the end.

Patrick

I can sense your intense hurt, pain and sadness within your write…
Lift your head up, as you are worthy of so much more.
It is never the end…

I know that love hurts like hell sometimes,
but maybe it was just never meant to be,
or maybe it is…

‘Set her free,
and if she is meant for you,
she will come back to you…’

Sometimes in life, one has to make mistakes,
to realize what has been right all this time…
Sometimes in life one has to loose something,
to realize how much it meant to you.

Allow yourself the time to heal,
and know that the right person [if it’s not her]
is out there somewhere waiting for you,
….and possibly feeling the same way that you are feeling at the moment.
Hurting makes one a little bit stronger and a whole lot wiser.
Stay strong and never stop believing!
Thanks for sharing your poem.
Take care.
