There are men some will even say that they are boys
Flying out of hometowns and bases that they are stationed at
Leaving family and friends behind to make a journey half way around the world
To make sure that other people have the same rights and freedoms that us Americans do
To be able to have dinner with our families
To sleep peacefully with out worry of being kidnapped

For some this is their 2,3,4,5, or even 6th deployment for others it is their first
These are the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and wives that hurt the most
Seeing their love ones take off in that plane not knowing what is ahead but knowing that they were with them for the time being and probably second guessing themselves
Was I a good mother, was I the best wife that I was and is there a way that I could be better?
These questions run though the minds of the ones that were left behind
Don’t worry you mothers and wives out there you were what you were
When god looks after them, he remembers the things you did and forget those that you did not do so that your son, daughter, wife, mother, son and fathers will make it back
As best as he can

Nicely done. The poem is very tactful. My best friend is being deployed to Iraq in February. It is absolutely depressing he's going off to fight in this BS war. I support our troops, bring them home.
