Array ( [sid] => 139678 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Dear Teachers [time] => 2008-01-09 08:38:17 [hometext] => This poem is written as if Jesus himself were writing a letter to teachers. [bodytext] => Dear teachers,

I have sent to you these children
But they're yours for a short while,
So take the time to nurture them
And teach them with a smile.

Give them all your understanding
Each one's different from the last.
One is loud, the other's quiet
But all seem to grow so fast.

Never criticise them harshly
Treat them kindly and with love,
And to discipline them properly
Seek wisdom from above.

Some may seem to be more active
For I've made them in that way.
And I'll guide you as you teach them
If you seek me out and pray.

There are those that may be hurting
And in looking past their tears,
I will show you what's inside them
All their worries and their fears.

A few you must encourage
As they struggle to fit in.
But in showing them how much you care
Their trust you'll surely win.

Have patience when you're teaching
For they really try their best,
Yet in seeking out their boundaries
Your limits they will test.

Be committed to these children
For I've placed them in your care.
Your reward will be in heaven
For this burden that you bear.

Well thought out words... This is an excellent poem for all teachers to read and in saying that, I am asking your permission to print it out and stick it up in our Sfaff Room... Credit will, of course, go to you... Thank you for sharing this...
