oops
|
for years now
my poems have been filled
with silence
and quiet times
little stuff.
i find
id much rather write about
laying on the couch
with the tv off,
listening to my dog
work on a bone
while the clock ticks.
no great thoughts
or theories
or even
memorable lines.
just life.
paring things down.
stripping them
to the
bone.
minimalist stuff.
keeping that in mind,
im even thinking of
going downstairs
and getting rid of
all my books
with the exception of
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD,
a dictionary
and
THE GRAPES OF WRATH.
knowing
for damn sure certain
that in all things vital,
less
is more.
