One lonely poet,
Sitting, thinking...reflecting
Going through a million emotions
Trying to find the perfect way to
lay them all out on paper. I'm hesitant,
somewhat nervous...will my poem rhyme?
Does it need to? Are my readers going to understand
what I'm saying? Do they need to? Will people
feel what I'm feeling or will this just be a collection
of words read and soon forgotten...does it even matter?
Here I am,
one lonely poet, with a pen and a canvas...
painting the world with my heartache, my sadness,
hoplelessly reaching for a soul who understands
the struggle within me. Sentence after sentence
until the pain subdues, each line another insight
of what it's like to walk in my shoes. Trying to
keep my head above the darkness, keeping my eye on the
light at the end of the tunnel...but the tunnel is so long.
I can't help but wonder what I did wrong to be left here all alone.
So here I am,
One lonely poet...
And here you are, one lonely reader,
And I realize that together we are a world of poets held together
by the power of one familiar beauty. The power of poetry,
understanding and compassion...one poet to another. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 256 [topic] => 69 [informant] => bleedthelove [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => poets )
