I still see you beyond the sun,
beneath the snow,
inside the flowers that grow wild out my back door,
among the dreams left lying on my pillow.
You are the cause of tears for the weeping willow.

Part Two: Escape

I run until the world becomes a blur,
until the whir of his voice in my ear disappears,
until sweat leaves my body in great rushing rivers,
until my breathing nearly disappears,
until mountains flatten into great plains,
until the sun, my sun, is replaced with snow.
But it is a failed attempt at letting him go.

Part Three: Disguise

When the sun breaks through the clouds I smile,
and for awhile my laugh becomes raucous and grating.
And light spirits are something I try out for awhile,
like a new dress.
I skip, I sing, and backfloat for hours down the most beautiful creek,
washing away tears dripping down my cheeks.
It is the disguise the creates the guise of happiness which allows me to keep holding on.

Part Four: Anger

It isn't fair that I use my powers to return the leaves to the trees,
rewinding and reliving instead of living.
Why am I choosing to remain a statue frozen in happier times?
I beat on the ground, and scream at the trees.
I fall to my knees and wish to god I could make him leave the air I breathe.
But the sick have no power over disease.

Part Five: The Inevitabilities

It's inevitable that my back would begin to hurt from carrying him around so long,
It's inevitable that someone who always preferred to live in the past instead of the now should grow tired.
It's inevitable that the happiness we shared that I had been storing away like jewels would begin to lose their shine.
Is it..can it be time to let him go?

Part Six: Resolution

The sun sinks into waiting shadows,
urging me on.
My fingers are cramped and hardened into the fist I kept you in.
But slowly they unfurl like new spring flowers,
and you disappear into the second that passes.

I believe you write beautifully. I can feel every word, but still I think you try to hard.
don't get me wrong these things you write are good, but you know me, structure isn't wild.
