It takes a second to spell and a lifetime to understand.
People told me, but I never believed in what I heard,
That sometimes love can make you feel like a barren land.

LOVE is the queen of all emotions there are,
It takes you up or down, makes you laugh or cry.
But it also has the strength to wound and mar,
That leaves unsuspecting hearts high and dry.

LOVE reaches everyone big or small, young and old,
Spreading its essence, like a never-ending creeper.
When you fall in love you don’t have to be told,
That if she isn’t right, you’re going to be a lone weeper.

LOVE even persuaded the Angels and Gods untold,
So they could romance the mortals upon their visit to earth.
Their love was sincere, strong and bold,
Resulting in the Nepilim and Demi-Gods’ birth.

LOVE can make a man or destroy him,
It works mysteriously through a boy or a girl.
My life just like many other lovers, is a little dim,
Because when there’s no love, there’s no light in this world.

Lovely write. Yes that one little word can bring forth such a levity of emotion can it not?
