[bodytext] => The great black train stood ready waiting on the rails We were preparing for the journey and all that that entails A short wait at the station while they loaded all the fuel We came aboard her in Sofia on the way to Istanbul Every inch of her was shining. all her steel did it gleam We soon would be underway with a giant head of steam Your face could be seen in each and every piece of brass And a sparkle just like diamonds on every pane of glass She pulled out of the station and as always right on time The great wheels began to turn as we slowly made our climb She finally made it up to speed and we were underway We would reach our destination in only just one day I entered the great club car and had my usual cup of tea I headed toward my compartment where ever that may be I ambled down the center isle, In an attempt to claim my spot Of course I knew not where it was or the number I forgot The coachman led me to it and very kindly let me in It had a window sink and bar and carpet all within I settled in a cosy seat and watched the scenery pass Houses trees and pretty leaves and miles and miles of grass Not long after I settled in I heard a knock on my door It was such a gentle knock none I've ever heard before While I stood to answer a lovely lady walked inside She was sobbing please mister you must help me hide I sat her on my cosy seat and dried her flowing tears I wrapped my arm around her and tried to ease her fears We heard the door lock rattle then came crashing open wide She screamed don't let him take me, help me please she cried I grabbed him by the collar and swung my hardest blow I hit him in the face and she kicked him down below We threw him from the berth out the open window wide He tumbled down the hillside toward the water-side She told me that this man had chased her a hundred miles or so Her Father promised they would marry, of course she had said no We played cards and had a great time all the remainder of our tour I'll remember that trip always and of that you can be sure [comments] => 1 [counter] => 150 [topic] => 40 [informant] => jsringo [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => fantasy )
