Across a vast emptiness a storm brews as windows to the soul go blind
For upon empty ears not a sound can a severed heart hope to find
As fate and love, life and death all become intertwined

Fragile thoughts like rumbling thunder come rolling through the heart
Across a barren plain a storm brews as structures to the soul fall apart
For upon empty eyes not a sight can a charred mind hope to restart
As heart and mind, body and soul begin to depart

Fragile thoughts like a river’s violent surge tear apart the weary soul
As the storm that brews upon the mind’s foundation begins to take its toll
Turning the mind into a whirlpool swirling around the drain as it becomes an empty black hole
Wiping the slate clean, you start over with another piece of charcoal

Fragile dreams like lightning flashes illuminate a deadened vein
As the storm that brews upon old bones moan with disdain
Making a soul once complete cry out in agonizing pain
As a cluttered slate once filled with regret and sorrow washes clean in the pouring rain

Like the beat of a pounding drum the rampant heart speeds to its inevitable end
As to dying eyes every color of the spectrum begin to blend
Calling to heaven their wing angels do lend
As the storm dissipates the weary soul to the stars finally does ascend

I had to keep reading it over and over. It is that good. Another super post from you both.
