You are the first person who has made me forget the past
But still I'm cautious and I can't speak my mind
I've been turned into a flute a thousand times
Used and then discarded like a plastic bag

But I think I'm into who you are
Like a child climbing up to the cookie jar
I hope I don't fall upon my head
And paint the kitchen floor all red
I hope I don't fall from the pantry shelf
'Cause my mama will not come to help
She'll just say I did this to myself

You are the first person who has made me forget the past.
You were wearing a great big smile the first time we met
And then we went back and combined our breath
Oh, how we went back and we combined our breath

And I think I'm into who you are
Like a child climbing up to the cookie jar
What's the flavor, does it matter at all?
'Cause sugar is sugar after all
And mom and dad will be upset
When they come home and find we met

You are the first person I'm willing to take a chance on
And I know what all my friends will say, "who is this girl anyway?
Do the math, what do you say? Figures can often block the way"
But to much of their dismay even the greatest wall will fall some day

And I think I'm into who you are
Like a child climbing up to the cookie jar
I hope I don't fall upon my head
And paint the kitchen floor all red
I hope I don't fall from the pantry shelf
'Cause my mama will not come to help
She'll just say I did this to myself

You are the first person who has made me forget the past
You're the sweetest thing I've been tempted by since the cookie jar
Even though it was very far, I found a way to that shining star
I hope that I don't fall from the pantry shelf
'Cause I'll know I did this to myself

"My Sweetest Friend"

You are the first person who has made me forget the past
But still I'm cautious and I can't speak my mind
I've been turned into a flute a thousand times
Used and then discarded like a plastic bag

I hope I don't fall from the pantry shelf
'Cause my mama will not come to help
She'll just say I did this to myself

You are the first person who has made me forget the past.
You were wearing a great big smile the first time we met
And then we went back and combined our breath
Oh, how we went back and we combined our breath

And I think I'm into who you are
Like a child climbing up to the cookie jar
