Should you depart before I do
And leave me all alone
I’d face this world all by myself
And walk bravely into the unknown.

I’d take a trek down Memory Lane
And recall the pleasures and joys
The happy times that we both shared
Even death cannot destroy.

I’d hear your voice whispering to me
When the ocean breezes blow
I’d know that you were by my side
Everywhere I go.

I’d feel your gentle touch
As the waves caress the shore
I’d know it had to be you
As, my body, you try to explore.

I'd see your smile within the clouds
Way up in the sky so blue.
And if you looked down below
You’d see me smiling too.

When you leave for the other side
There’s one thing I’ll ask you to do;
Save me a place close by
For soon I’ll be joining you.

It's so great to get back on this site after a very long time removed and instantly come across a reminder as to why I've wanted to write in the first place. Thank you so much, this is beautiful.

Oh my gosh, hun! Damn, this is so gorgeous!!!!!

I've often thought about how I would handle the loss of someone I loved dearly,
should they be the one to leave first. And I've always reached the same conclusion.
I'd be a mental case if I were to be left behind. I have never thought myself strong
enough. But wow! Your words inspire and create a power that even I could
engage! I love that about your writings. They not only touch the reader, but
become a PART of them, in a way that few can and do.

Beautiful work, hun. As always ~

*hugs you tight*

~Breezy
(OMG .. I LOVE the pic of you in the water! I want to join! It looks SO relaxing!)
