Do not cover your eyes.
Take a moment
look intently rest inside the lonely soul
feel the brush of blue seated there
speak of, then know of stone.
Slivers of hearts broken,
shattered in a frosty breath.
Left to lay alone
on broken uneven cement
where people step careless each day.
No knowing, caring or feeling the pain that rests there.
Do not cover your eyes,
look intently
there are lost souls near you
wanting to rest inside your soul
and take in a second look
as they brush up the scattered pieces
from an uneven sidewalk.
