Tell you a tale
Of a beatiful, exquisete, addiction
To a world turned so dark and pale
Its the story of a traveler
That had been running to long
When I least expected
I stumbled upon

I'm not to sure
'cause it was to dark to see
Don't know if I found her
Or if she found me
But days were like night
Amidst the cold and the rain
We met in a puddle of light
She was a portrait of pain
At home in the cold
With a smile pulled tight
She had found comfort in rain
and solace in night

I could see she'd been abandoned
By the one she needed the most
Could see where others had tried
But you can't compete with a ghost
With a halo that was broken
She soothed my demons inside
For a while we walked
Down that road side by side
A couple wrong turns
More than one bad decision
The road became tainted
Hard to envision

Those eyes still have that sparkle
If you know where to look
Its just hidden somewhere inside
Like a phrase in a book
Beneath a brow of confusion
Above a smile of hope
Appear clear as the sky
Yet stay bleary with dope

Then with a clash
Of the storm
A flash in the sky
She's gone, I'm gone,
We're wondering why
Smilin' inside
Suppressing a sigh

Now often I wonder
How did her saga unfold
That weary traveler
With her tale still untold
Wish for an answer
A reason to why
But I still haven't seen her
Since that last flash in the sky

Now my travels are many
My expectations are few
Just like her
" I'm just passing thru "

I want to thank you for this journey. Very reminiscent of a road I once traveled.

Beautifully written with wonderful imagery.

Peace
