One entails action, the other seldom brings
We make our own pain, and drive our own lust
It’s the way of the world, still it seems as unjust
Times of grand feat, are squandered away
Giving up nothing, yet everything each day
Try if you don’t, and don’t you dare try
Give something great, the time which to die
Around its remnants, Doom, it will dance
Resisting to fall, into the revenants’ stance
Of what we make, and what we hold dear
Are given up daily, to greed and to fear
Our greatest moments, are always to nigh
Yet never to get, to breathe life’s great sigh

Steve, your first two lines open this so completely! I am sincerely impressed!!

There is something to be said for having the audacity to dare to do things-
things that we might not otherwise even give a second thought to. We
think we are safe in our little cocoons, but one day we MUST dare. Or
how else are we to fly? Excellent philosophical write, my friend. I guess
where you are, gives you much to think on, eh?

Bravo, poet! This one is just enormous. Especially in that last line! WOW!
