She sits and smiles as the couple moves in
Taking their first steps towards a happy end
A thank-you and a hug is all she gets
But she still smiles none-the-less
Cupid is her calling
Always helping, bringing lovers together
Always hurting, a dark curse looming over her
She holds tightly to her dream
Doomed to spread love, yet never find her own
Wandering aimlessly through the shadows
Bringing light to all around
Yet trapped in the darkness
A goddess, a love bringer
She is worshiped among lovers
Languishing in broken heartedness
Floating along an endless river
Filled with tears of sorrow
A beacon of hope
A symbol of love
She is the lover forever lost

I have never seen any one take the time to look at it that way. beautiful. honestly. i have gone to so much school trying to be a professional. no fellow student was this inventive. kudos!

| the work is very moving. i don't mean to sound like an emotionless critic. but i also like to give fellow authors a well deserved back scratch. it's hard getting our hearts on paper like that. nice to meet you. |
