shoving it aside, getting by
knowing it's not right
but a girls gotta eat
so i grit my teeth
washed my face and went to work

but the pain got worse
so i went to the doctor
he tells me nothing's wrong
but gives me pills for the pain anyway?
well the pills made it worse
they clouded my mind, slowed me down
the pills cost me my job
so i shoved them aside

i've lived with all this pain
shoving it aside, getting by
knowing it's wrong
but a girls gotta eat
so i grit my teeth
washed my face and went to work

but the pain got worse
so i went to the doctor
he asked me what was wrong
i told him that i really didn't remember
but i saw all these uninvited hands
i heard all this screaming
and i felt so much pain
yet i was so numb at the same time

Hey, Karabeara. Are your poems set to music? I've noticed that your poems really flow along....like melodic music and this is no exception. I like that and thought I should point that out. I've been thinking it but keep forgetting to mention it. Good job... natural flow.

Oh, man, that line he tells me nothing's wrong
but gives me pills for the pain anyway?
I can soooo relate to that. It's like wtf is up with that? Sometimes they just write a script for pills...like, uh, I can't think of anything else so...here...take these.

But you hit the nail on the head with this one. years of pent up emotions flowing out.... Damn straight....and the flow is superb! I am sorry you have to go through all this but, like I said on "your sick satisfaction"...the one positive thing here is you're getting some damn fine poetry out of it.

Kara,
I am playing catch up tonight got some time.
This just screamed with pain all the way through.
You wrote with such intent and emotion bringing it right through the screen.

Sometimes I think the pills they give hurt us worse than the ill that brought us to the doc in the first place!

I hope you will be ok and well.

Michelle

Kara~
This is so sad girlfriend. My, you
hit straight at the heart strings.
I'm so sorry you have been through
this. *hugs you tight*
We grin and bear it, but does anyone
really know what lies behind the smile?
When doctors can't get a proper diagnosis
they just write up scripts in hope that we
will get better and won't have to come back
to them.
A very touching write. Keep writing my friend
it's so good for the heart and soul. Wishing
you a vibrant rainbow to brighten up your day.
best of wishes always.
love & hugs,
sue m

Kara, this is excruciating. So much pain and suffering and wondering as well.
I'm with Tim. The lines,

"he tells me nothing's wrong
but gives me pills for the pain anyway?"

boy do we get that! (My mother and I). When my sister began having
headaches, for TWO YEARS the doctor told her it was stress or some
such crap. My mother finally demanded a catscan! I thought these
people were supposed to help us?

Anyway, you penned this impeccably hun, as always. I hope it helps
somewhat to be able to write, and in knowing you have people
who care for and love you. ^_^ Your strength is an inspiration! I
admire you greatly hun. Don't ever change.

*hugs you tight*
