My soul dances through a lonely existence
Oh how I long for a friend
Every day I feel love's absence
And every night I wish it would end
As the pain wells up inside me
I can contain it no longer
It wants to burst out; to be set free
Each moment the pain drives deeper
Music is my relief
My tears fall with each note
Here is where I find the only comfort to my grief
To art my heart I devote
But it cannot keep me warm on a cold winter's night
It can never give me love; or truly sustain me
An no matter how much I write
It cannot relieve me of my agony
It is a silent friend; it will not speak
For there is nothing it could say
That would stop the tears upon my cheek
Or take this pain away
I am only left as I have been
A broken, empty soul
That hides the sorrow deep within
And nothing can console
**I write, draw or listen to music for those are the only things that comfort me, but in the end it's fleeting. That comfort never stays for long**

this is a heartwrenching expressive poem on lonliness and empitness .. I could relate to this in my past.. you write similar to my older stuff when i felt empty.. it seems to never go away.. but someday it really will it just takes time.. this is beautiful though..

Oh my dear poet, this is heart wrenching. It is so unbelievably painful,
not only to witness the ache you endure but to be reminded of the ache
that all of us, at some point, have had to live through. (And that some of
us are still trying to breathe through).
Devastating pain here and the emotion is so keenly felt, it breaks a reader's heart.
Stay well and don't lose all hope. Sunshine always has a way of finding the cracks
in the clouds. ^_^

I am a firm believer in poetry as therapy.
Even if it is only fleeting relief for you, at least
it lasts a moment. A sadly lovely piece.

My friend.... Your heart is as beautiful as your art. The anguish bleeds heavily through your words. Your falling tears beat like a drum on the floor keeping time to the music. I wish for the drums to be silenced and joyous music to take its place.
