Looking into a mirror, across the table from me
Staring closely at myself, my reflection to be
Just a glance of that other, I feel so in close in proximity

Do I know who I am anymore
Not sure where to begin
This road trip that lies ahead
So many roads so little time
To survey them all

Turning without rhyme or reason
I don’t know what I’m feeling
But it is dearest to confusion

Turning back to see where I’ve been
To see what I’ve left behind
Trying to peer down that other road
Curious of what could have been

Looking ahead of what waits for me
Soon … Soon I’ll see what I am to be

Looking into a mirror, across the table from me
Staring closely at a stranger, he stares back sullenly
Who is it that I see … looking carefully
I find myself in the mirror my reflection that is

Glancing At The Mirror

Looking into a mirror, across the table from me
Staring closely at myself, my reflection to be
Just a glance of that other, I feel so in close in proximity

Do I know who I am anymore
Not sure where to begin
This road trip that lies ahead
So many roads so little time
To survey them all

Turning without rhyme or reason
I don’t know what I’m feeling
But it is dearest to confusion

Turning back to see where I’ve been
To see what I’ve left behind
Trying to peer down that other road
Curious of what could have been

Looking ahead of what waits for me
Soon … Soon I’ll see what I am to be

Looking into a mirror, across the table from me
Staring closely at a stranger, he stares back sullenly
Who is it that I see … looking carefully
I find myself in the mirror my reflection that is

Your poem made me think of all the things I have thought about in my 22years of marriage
to the wrong man. I liked it very much made me remember how strong I had to be and still am today. Good luck and stand strong!

I like the mirror comparison...the mirror is us..and no one ever likes what the mirror shows....but its the truth...good job
