In this unpredictable world.
Rejecting myself
I'm my own enemy and friend.

If only I could stop wasting my life away
Trying to enjoy life and picking myself up when i fall.
I get pushed and pushed away,
Till i've got nowhere else to go.

Peer pressure's something else,
Got my parents breathing down my neck,
Trying to be someone I'm not.
Thoughts running through my head

Gotta chill gotta think
Who the hell am I trying to fool?
I think I'm fat
Think i'm worthless but is that really true?

Lack of confidence,lack of focus
WHat am i to do?
i wanna stop and start over

I'm caught up in this web of lies
i can't get out i'm running out of faith.
Too much stress,
Too much drama.

Who can help me out?
Only me, I have the power
i can change everything,
If only i knew how...

After I read your kind comment on my poem, I thought I would check out yours. Interesting, painful, and a bit of wistfulness are words that come to mind when I read it. I thought there were some excellent lines in this poem. The last line in the first stanza is good. It is evocative. It makes me remember a time when that was true for me as well. The whole fourth stanza I thought very good, especially the last line. If this poem is about you, just know that it gets better. I have raised several girls, and I know, it gets better. I don't know how old you are, but all my girls started to get a tiny bit better about the middle of their 17th year, and life began to make more sense a bit more each year after that. By the time they were 25 they were almost human. lol. I read both of your posted poems, and they both in parts of the them made me think or remember. I can think of no higher praise for poetry than that.

You put your heart out for all to read with this one.
You also asked some hard questions, is it really true? Who can help me out? A great write.

You are right, you are the one to help you out, and you will.

Hugs

Happy Thanks Giving

Michelle

I've just read all three of your writes and first I wonna say welcome to our global fanily here at ypdc.
Now You are a great writer.
I'm only commenting on this one right now but I'll get back later.
You now have a new fan.
I agree with ladyfawn and jenni and I forgot the other one.
I'm really sad that you can't be open with your parents. I raised two daughters aand one son and helped with all 8 grankids. They all know they can come tell me any thing and they know I'll not judge them.
If you need a friend pm me any time. I can't help but I can listen and anything you say will never be repeted to any one but God.
Take it easy on yourself 'cause we all **** up.
As a mater of fact I wrote a poem tittled WE ALL ****** Up!
u might wonna check it out.
lUV, BIG HUGGS, BLESSING, PRAYER, PEACE, HOPE, JOY,
emy
