the night lark
sings
offering her heart.
reclining moon,
as if, a half-lit kerosene lamp
dangles,
drenched in ceaseless pain
pining,
warmth of
a distant
last star of the night..

stay my friend, the night is yet to end

Searing my being, my heart, the soul
searches in eternal vain
unexplained questions of my
distressed mind..
as though stray birds, yearning
to take wings
across the vast blue
of ever receding horizon
the unknown quest..

Elusive …
fire-flies in the mist
my inner being, the farthest
recess of my mind reaches
to possess what is unreal
an enigmatic, mystifying end..

your final embrace,
dimpled smile, your anguished tears
it etches
one more writhing pain
to the story of my life..

stay, stay my friend
this night…
till the last lingering flicker
of the lamp ends..

There was an atmospheric and soothing quality about this, it all knitted together perfectly.

the imagery was world class. it was a joy to read.

the night lark

offering her heart.

as if, a half-lit kerosene lamp
dangles,

i loved this bit, wonderful.
