smile to hide the shame.
Gathering thoughts adrift.
Loving should not be this way.

Open the heart with trust.
Titles are not what one needs.
Somewhere in the mix,
money and greed comes before it.

Kindred the spirit in mist.
Vapor that carries all away.
When do we decide
it is time to give or push it away?

Love should not be with condition.
Hearts bared and open to all.
Like the tree bare of leaf
on a frozen winters day.

No in between either or,
it needs to be true all around.
If we cannot come together
then all concerned is hell ward bound.

Breath of frost on the air,
tears will fall once more.
Death to the thought and what ifs
it is just what it has become.

This poem is so true, love should be unconditional not conditional. However it seems only animals understand that kind of love! Great write!
