Array ( [sid] => 148122 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Memento Walk [time] => 2009-02-22 21:32:20 [hometext] => I can't easily accept changes nor forget the past. A bit of nostalgy is pretty much what I came up with in this poem. [bodytext] => I took a walk one single noon,
in a hometown I would leave soon.
It had been a while since I return
to the place where I was born.
Never thought of this before,
that everything I love was there no more.
Changes were there
all in the air.
Like the bus I used to take
to reach the place that now seems fake,
has no longer pass through the route
where I could see people act brute.

I moved my feet for further step,
wasn't sure about the path
but did not stop nor asked for help,
for I knew I'd solve this like math.
I kept on moving and there I found
the very place I used to fond.
I looked around memorized every mark,
but when I got inside it was very dark.
It was the same old building outside,
but no longer the same inside.
I left the place disappointed
with the invention I never estimated.

That was the walk one single noon,
In the hometown I would leave soon.
The plane ticket was in my hand,
would fly the next day just as planned.
Everything would never be the same,
thinking of them all would be so lame.
The love I expected had gone for long
searching for it now is definitely wrong.
I must move on
to the battle I haven't yet won,
leave all the memories behind
and keep the memento walk in mind. [comments] => 0 [counter] => 197 [topic] => 44 [informant] => kitkay [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Nostalgic )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
