Quenchless in your longings by fraud, conceit
And lust, you are inspired and strive for wealth
Grasping lies for truth and bound to vows impure
Made your goal to satisfy wretched selfish desires
Till you die you will be engrossed in ceaseless anxieties
Being enmeshed by thousand fetters of hopes, steeped
In deep desires and wrath to gather wealth only by
Unjust means you bent on merely to satisfy your lust
You say that you have achieved this one today and
That one next day and another would be won afterwards
You think that you have slain these enemies today and
Those other enemies you shall slay tomorrow because
You are the lord of the wealth and you have a right to kill
the useless men who beg for food and money and mercy.
Scattering gifts among slaves you desire to buy the heavens
Deluded by such ignorance, maddened by anger and lust
Dragged by your greediness; you’re rushing headlong into
The hell but who will save you there when you burn in fires?

Excellently written verse with a dynamic message, venkat, of an unpleasant reality. May God be the judge, but I pray He be merciful to us who sin, but hope to do better.

Strike them down, let God sort them out, very strong, so pure, the rawest of emotions show through loud and clear, one heck of a write.

ah, how absolutely true... again, as usual ::smile::... your writings affect my soul... how truthful this prose is in that it addresses the true greed of those who aim for power, but what next?... my friend, you writings are full of inspiration in the sense that words are powerful... if the right person reads them, possibly we can change... blessings... michele
