I gave it my all
Though I still fall
My best isn't good enough
The ultimate judge has failed me
I tried so hard, repeatedly
But all my efforts have gone to waste
It has no effect
On the scores we face
I play with my heart
I play with my soul
But no matter how hard I try
That passion doesn't live up to the standards
The standards that they set
Are really hard to meet
And just to meet is not enough
We absolutely must surpass them
We tried
And failed
That is the simple truth
The competition is tough
The rewards are the best
But we'll never meet the standards, will we?
