The collapsing somatic aspect
Is all but done; vitality is acknowledged to be slipping away
White gowns prepare the shocking plates
Bustling about in pristine robes

On the sudden, I'm floating away
Those gowned people did all they could to keep me down
But now I'm zooming upward
Through a shaft of radiant light-beams

Ever upward my soul aspires
I'm on a path to God, the path which all souls fly
It's the last few miles in the awful rowing towards God
Rolling images convolute my thoughts

I ascend, the stellar heavens
Flooding past me; this journey accelerates
Soon I'm quite crushed by the body's last pain
I thought that life would be pleasant

But I hit rock-bottom
Hearts united, their proximity only mutually injured
This is the surge towards God, everyone's worn out
But, it's the task at hand

So I continue zooming towards God
Permeated by permutations of uncreated Light
Speeding faster than the brevity of the life I lived
But I feel the psychic cord pulled tight

On the sudden I'm jerked back down
These white creatures with white hands
Applied the plates and vivified my body
And I'm back here again

I wasn't ready then
I died before cardiac consubstantiality could take place
Like a seraphic deity, my soul came flying back down
And I'm back together

This path to God must continue
Albeit here on Earth; I shouldn't be afraid to to feel
Suffering, beginning the journey anew for the sake
of the awful rowing

The goal of all life
Will be realised in me; through fiery mutual concern
I must learn to accept pathology and have a kenotic heart
And ascend the path to God

By the way, the phrase, "the awful rowing towards God" is a reference to Anne Sexton's poem, entitled The Awful Rowing Toward God.
