In her eyes there is a warmth that pierces
Reaches in and tugs ever so slightly
And emotions long forgotten bubble to the surface
Feelings once thought dead revive, born anew
In her eyes there is a peace that washes over
Like a mothers embrace
It soothes every ache and calms all fears
Past mistakes now wiped clean
A brand new slate, a fresh start
In her eyes there is this hope
A strange notion all will be well
Despite the opposing forces
Fighting to separate and tear apart
There is this bond a common thread
So seemingly fragile
Yet it never flitters, never falters, never fails
In her eyes there is an entire future
Patiently waiting to be lived
