People touch them and they're cold
Why must I feel?
I don't want this to be real
Please take the pain back

Now through the air I hear their call
Crying out for some restrain
To heal their pain
Or maybe go insane
Mercy is their game

So I will walk through the fire
'Cause now it's said and done
I will walk through the fire
And let it...

The pain I feel is killing me
They don't notice this I know
I hear their cries
I'm free at their demise
i have to face their pain

'Cause I will walk through the fire
I know they'll never learn
I must walk through the fire
And let it...

Now I hear their echoes race
All alone they fear to be
Not ashamed
I always feel the pain
But they can never know

I am trapped in the fire
I can't just turn away
So I will walk through the fire
And let it burn. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 304 [topic] => 16 [informant] => Eternal_Darkness [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 19 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

I had one friendship once that was just like a trap. Took me a couple years of walking through the fire to finally find the strength to turn and walk away from it. Great poem.

"I must walk through the fire
And let it... "

Nice poem - full of angst and scorching emotion.
