So good to feel you near
Cooling with touch
Invading with warmth
Gratitude oozes and stains you
Our meeting long awaited
Reunited in a common need
Exploring each other all over again
Your edges and corners
My canvas, yours to paint
This partnership doomed to fail
Yet we arise from the ashes they placed upon us
While they saw the flames lick our skins
In the heat we were melded
Beneath the fire they devoured
Our existence was indestructible
What will they say to find us today
Entwined in an everlasting embrace
Branding each other inseparable
The crevices you create
Remove the damage from my soul
They believe I dance with another
But it is you,
My silver slice lover
