Array ( [sid] => 150923 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Matter of Time [time] => 2009-06-22 08:32:44 [hometext] => This is my very first poem i have ever written. Please keep this in mind. [bodytext] => watch the animal pace in this cage you have built
can you hear it growl, can you hear it roar
can you see the mouse nibbling at its fur

why have done this, please let me know
do you even know why, do you even care
or are you simply unable to resist

watch the eagle stand on its perch of wood inside its cage
can you hear it call, can you hear it scratching at the bars
can you see its wings wasting away

why have done this, please let me know
do you even know why, do you even care
or are you simply unable to resist

watch this man lay in his cage you built on behalf of someone else
can you hear his sobs, can you hear his silence
can you see him retreating into his mind, the last fortress, the last of your obstacles

why have done this, please let me know
do you even know why, do you even care
or are you simply unable to resist

i am their friend, i am their gaurdian
you were their friends, their brothers and sisters
we are are the ones who must stand in a sea of opression

in a world dominated by lions
it is the mice who are starting to roar
and it is the lions who are starting to lose their voice [comments] => 0 [counter] => 146 [topic] => 73 [informant] => ooms [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
