She washes over me again,
And I delve deeper into her consciousness,
Pulling out prisms and crystals,
Objects that distort the light.
Her perception is so altered,
She looks through a deceptive kaleidoscope.
I stare deep into her and she sees nothing but a shell.

Intoxicated.
She comes over like a wave of static,
Bowling me over,
Sending me hurtling and hurting,
Onto the sticky, smooth, dingy dance floor shore.

Violated.
She twists my emotions like the most malleable clay,
Flicks the switch and I happily obey.
My skull was gently opened,
Yet she plunges her hands in the jelly,
Ruthlessly disturbs the hive and,
Knowing the effect it has,
Removes her presence without subtlety,
Without compassion,
And without the slightest thought for the damage done,
Without a care for the mayhem that she knows she will inevitably cause.

Ensnared.
But I have been bitten by a snake with the sweetest venom,
I have been caught with a beautiful net,
I am enchanted by the eyes of a fabulous sorceress.
She will lead me to my doom.
Yet I will follow, content in the knowledge that
She will be the last thing that I see.

Betrayed.
Oh but what agony,
As all falls into place.
Gut wrenching torment,
Never feather drenching more,
Obsequious I am,
Servile and base,
But she is nothing more than a petit thief of hearts,
And my love is ultimately unrequited.

excellent - full of emotion and i love the imagery in the first stanza, as well as the metaphors that run throughout. the use of a single word at the beginning of each stanza is really effective too. great write, keep them coming (ian will be so proud!), Kate x
