That I portray for plaudits or self indulgent praise
You smite my interaction as competing for a prize
And push the fight from self appointed throne of alpha male

You pour your scaulding scorn because you do not understand
Eyes shut, the fool is always blind, the wise man always sees
If you do not accept me do not seek to ridicule
This mind is not some shallow pool like drought stung river bed

You bludgeon me with mocking sneer and vengeful dagger words
Yet where I bleed you will not see, I won't die on this field
I carry shield not slashing blade, but paper thin it tears
Exposes me to jibes and jokes, I fall to stoning crowd

Am I the perpetrator of some dark malicious crime?
I will accept no more than charge of trying to be friends
You sentenced with a sentence, what punishment awaits?
I came with warm embracing heart now frozen with your words

I've always thought you a nice person who always has something nice to say

try not to worry about what everyone thinks
no matter how hard you try not everyone will like you
But I think your a nice person
and great poem

I can relate to this sooooo much and was glad to read it. I understand your sentiments. Not only will men think it's attention seeking, I know at least one woman (my former wife) that would call it flirting. I would say "well, then I flirt with guys too, because all I want to do is be friendly to people; be friends with them; for them to like me; like them; just be nice and to be able to joke around. "

So, I think I know what you speak of. I don't think we're all like that, So I would not be one of those that would "smite" you.

This was a good write and I enjoyed it. Thank you.

Take care,

Tim

Nicely written emotive piece. I agree with everyone in that you are a genuinely kind person. I can tell from your comments and your poetry that your heart has only room for kindness. Focus on the positive people and shield yourself from the negative. I should follow this advice as I am often hurt as well. Again great piece.

Incredible emotive verse!
I also mirror everyone here.
I adore you! Up their rears!
I also do know that it does hurt,
I so understand you here.

It seems people who feel terrible
about themselves get a jealousy factor going
and it is a terrible thing for them to see anyone friendly and with a smile so they strike out. May karma reach up and bite em in their arsssssss that will cause 1000 stings!

Hugs you
Michelle
