scrapes and blows dealt by disappointment and despair.
Blows that caused such anguish that I prayed
for the presence of my father
in the unknown absence of the Father
and for the hope that there really existed
a man that could want me.
Because I love who I have yet to meet

I can forget the misgivings, the misguidance.
Each misprinted map and all broken compasses
that led me, tangled in someone else's sheets
and parting and spreading myself, a misguided heart
Finding you neither here nor there
And yet here, I want you
There, I need you
Because I love who I have yet to meet

I could love and lose those who come and go
from the passing of years and the fading
of a lesser emotion, pale in comparison to
such longing instilled in every fingertip
saturating my lips and closing my eyes in the
ecstatic anticipation of exploring your body
and the anticipation of you, claiming my own.
Because I love who I have yet to meet

I could wait for such oceans to dry
That my eyes have gone gray, aged dull
And their glow has bent and shifted
Lackluster from experience and years of
life, of living, of approaching each end
To taste what I have yet to see
To touch what I have yet see
Because I love who I have yet to meet

This is written in a lovely style. At times it speeds along, at times it slows down. Well controlled poetry.
