We have set our parting for the morrow,
Knowing it will bring such sorrow.
We have shared so many happy years
I know that very soon I’ll be in tears.

We’ve been together from the very start.
I never imagine we’d ever have to part.
I blame myself for neglecting you
Now there’s nothing left for me to do.

There was a time you brought nothing but joy
Today…all you ever do is annoy.
The only thing you bring me now is pain
Believe me, I try so hard not to complain.

Each time I think of what lies in store
My tears keep falling more and more.
The actual parting will cause so much pain
I’m sure I’d want to jump in front of a train.

The Next Morning:

The time is right to rid myself of you.
As of now, you and I are through.
It is now time for the moment of truth
The dentist is ready to extract my tooth!!

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!

~~xXx~~

This is great. I am so glad I do not read ahead as it would have ruined the entire thing for me!!!! L O blanking L you have got me falling out of my chair.

As I was reading, I'm thinking, gee, I do not want to be that dude and I wonder what poem of Spud's she is referring to.

*laughing as he ends that line*

Thank you, my cheek muscles needed the exercise. :-)

Tim

Oh jen you really had me going on this one.
You've always had a knack for this type of writing. You do it better than any one I know.
big smiles, huggs, blessings,

Hi Jenni,
Brilliant! For a while I was wondering what poem
it was that you were referring to - but you kept
me hanging there until the ending. The punchline
is right on the nose!

Speedy recovery to you, Jenni!

Tommy

Oh Jenni,
I was going to tell you how Jaeann is going through the very same thing, and how I went through it too. I was so proud of you when I could feel the end coming..........then you dumped me right in the Dentist chair, and I swear..........that was harder than riding myself of my "painful" former husband!!
*giggles* I owe you one dear.
Enjoyed this one for all it's worth!
hahahahahahaha
Warm love
consue

Oh Jenny!
Having been away so long, I did not recall the degree and acuity of your wit..

Now I have learned for good what LOVE is all about, ever so much more uncomplicated as a breakdown into categories, like the famous "4", and love's root is likewise simplified, = i.e. a Root Canal Procedure..

Brilliant !

Love
Elizabeth
